I first ordered these in navy; wanted shorts to wear over swim suit while river tubing. When I tried them on, I decided to order the combo pack of black and gray as well. They are very light weight and comfortable. Yes, the legs are wide and they're a rather loose fit. I will wear them only at home or for very casual outdoor activity. If you're looking for stylish, you probably won't like these but if you want comfort, as I did, you'll likely be quite happy with them. I have removed the draw strings because the waist is tight enough and I don't want to deal with the strings.
